Who cares what that reviewer said, I read both the book and the review and agree with you he did not "get it." But the important thing is that they wrote about your book so tons more people know about it now!

I was inspired to read your book because of the From Left 2 Write reviews. And I especially loved the one by Emily Paster that you pointed out.

I don't believe the reviewer "got" your book either. Any kind of "materialism" or "vanity" your mother may have had was more than balanced out by the positive impact on the many lives she touched and her love of life. It honestly sounds like he just skimmed your book.

Hi Katie!

Just stumbled on here from Gretchen Rubin's blog...I am sorry to hear about the passing of your grandmother (and I know that your book is launching as I type this and that is very exciting), but I just want to tell you to keep writing! I read your articles, I read your blog, and I am hoping to read your book soon and I just want you to know that something about the way you write really speaks to me and I can't wait to read more. As a girl who has fought with her own mother's addiction to eBay on more than one occasion, I think I can relate a little bit! :)

Good luck with the book and thanks for sharing your thoughts with the world!

Sincerely,
Brenda

I am a "Grandma Susie" also. Nothing cuter than those little people saying the word 'Susie.' I was always "Susie" until college when I chose "Susan" but now my email address has Susie in it, so it's BACK! My husband of 51 years has always called me Suze. (Sooz)

Yes, I'm called "Grandma Suzy"by all 6 of my grandchildren. I was born a Suzanne but my parents called me "Suzy" unless they were upset with me -- thus, it had negative connotations. When I was in my 30's we moved and I tried to become a full-time "Suzanne", thinking it more elegant sounding and not wanting to be limited by a childhood hang-up -- but it didn't really take. There are a couple folks from that era who still call me "Suzanne" when they call and I always know who they are. But, Suzy it is and yes, my folks friends used to sing THAT song to me -- At 78, I still know all the words! I do like being Suzy.
